How to earn points through engagement.

A Seeker is an employer or anyone seeking help on a project. As a Seeker, you can post a project or contest with your set of requirements. Interested parties will respond and you can select your desired candidates with full transparency on their skills, scores, reviews, and works endorsed by the community.

Receive “concur” and “disconcur” on your postings

This is an option for you to potentially receive much higher RP than simply receiving “likes”. People who “concur” with you on your post will need to write their commentary explaining their reasons for concurring. Their comments will in turn be rated by other members impacting their scores. The catch here is that even though you may receive higher RP if many people concur with you, you may also get points deducted if many disconcur with you as it depends on the % of concur vs disconcur you receive for each post. People writing comments are encouraged to act in their best behaviour as their feedback is also being rated by others as well.

Being a moderator (“mod”)

RP is rewarded for mods who receive a good rating from community members.

Upon Project Completion

You will receive a review from the Alchemist based on a set of criteria upon project completion. Ratings will then be converted into SP. Calculation will be time-weighted where more recent projects will have more weights on your score. You can potentially earn more SP on your higher-priced or longer duration projects as they tend to be more complex and challenging. Extra SP will be awarded if you consistently receive good ratings on consecutive projects.

Win a contest

You will earn SBP based on your winning placement in each contest..

As a Seeker, credits can either be purchased separately or included as part of your subscription package. They are used for certain functions and activities such as posting a project, initiating a dispute arbitration panel and participating as arbiters in the panel.

You can bid for a project once you have registered as an Alchemist.

You will be notified on postings that match your registered skills and Alchemist level. When you bid for a project, it will not allow you to bid lower than the estimated fee specified by the Seeker (this is to avoid candidates low balling on price). To add more value to the Seeker’s posting, your bid can include the following:

To add more value to the Seeker’s posting, your bid can include the following: A shorter time to delivery than the Seeker’s expected completion date

Suggest and amend the milestones and their respective % of completion to reflect your knowledge and experience based on the Seeker’s requirements

Suggest and add milestones and skills to the existing project requirements based on your knowledge and experience

Once your bid is submitted, the Seeker can chat with you for further clarifications on your suggestions through our chat system to finalize your bid. You will be notified if your bid has been accepted by the Seeker.

o deposit an amount equal to or more than your estimated project fee into your wallet before the posting is confirmed (this is to ensure you have sufficient money for the project). In addition, you will need to craft credits from your wallet balance for each posting at a conversion rate of 5 credits for every US$1.00 (this is to avoid people from creating many projects at no costs). For Seekers who are under a subscription plan, there will be free credits for project postings and other features (see more on Subscription Plans in “What are the fees involved on this platform?”).

You can post a project once you have registered as a Seeker.

You will need to write out your requirements in detail together with an estimated price and a delivery date. You will also need to indicate the desired skill set for the candidates (ie, back end programming, web design, etc.) and their levels (ie, apprentice, journeyman, master, etc.) which are critical to help effectively match your post to relevant Alchemists. You can also choose to break out your project into milestones by indicating the specific requirements and your desired % of completion for each milestone.

At the beginning of each project, Seeker is required to make a deposit into our account equaling to 20% of the total project fee. Subsequent payments will be made by the Seeker upon completion of each milestone as per the respective %. Generally, deliverables for the milestone are sent for preview by the Alchemist, once these are agreed and accepted by the Seeker, a request for payment will be sent to the Seeker. Seeker can process payments via PayPal, Stripe or direct bank transfer to the Alchemist’s account.

You can create a contest once you have registered as a Seeker.

You will need to write out your contest requirements and rules in detail together with the winning prize and entry deadline. You will need to have an amount equal to or more than your stated winning prize in your wallet before the contest can be created.

The winner will be determined and announced by the Seeker after reviewing all the contestants’ submissions. Winner takes all the prize money and will be awarded SBP together with the 1st & 2nd runner ups.

Subscription Fee

After the initial tryout period, Seekers will need to subscribe to our platform in order to continue posting or engaging with Alchemists on new projects or contests. Refer to the subscription fee table for more details under the “Manage my Subscriptions” page.

Transaction Fee

A transaction fee (calculated as 5% of the total project fee) is collected from the deposit payment received by the Alchemist at the start of each project.

Credits

Credits are used to unlock many features and functions on the platform (refer to the credits and features table for more details under the “Manage my Subscriptions” page). They can be purchased by any user at a conversion rate of 5 credits for every US$1.00. For Seekers who are under a subscription plan, there will be free credits depending on the plan.
